The human body is the mirror of the universe, as its constituent elements are the same as those found in nature and are governed by the same laws. I encourage anyone to practice Tai Chi and Qi Gong outdoors to develop their concentration, power and balance their inner energy while loving and appreciating our planet.
Outdoors practice aligns us with nature, connecting us with the greatest of living beings. “Our Planet” makes our inner and our second lung “The Skin” radiant.
When we practice outdoors we don’t necessarily have to look for a quiet and isolated place, we already have it at home. Any outdoor place can serve as the park next to the house, the beach, etc. One of the most interesting things about working outdoors is that it tests our ability to adapt to the environment without losing “our space”. For example; Imagine that you put on the position of Qi Gong and meditation “The Tree” in the Park and right next to you there are children and begin to play and even to laugh at what you are doing. This moment is wonderful and we have to thank for what happens to us to test our connection skills with what we are doing, it doesn’t really matter what happens around us if we are able to “submerge the heart”, calm thoughts and emotions as our teacher explained to us. Even being in the middle of the metro station at a rush hour or the bustle of people, would make you lose your moment of “interior peace” and “presence.” Sometimes some beginner students make excuses to not practice outdoors for the noise and feel embarrassed to others to see them learning, more rightly these people should practice outside to help them lose the fears of what people think of them. It is an incredible opportunity to improve our version and grow, through the techniques we learn in Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes.
Encourage yourself to practice outdoors and force yourself to concentrate and be more precise in each movement without being affected by whoever shouts, speaks, laughs or watches you. The interesting thing is to feel what is happening around you without losing the internal control so that it is reflected in our daily life with our friends, partner, work relations or simply people who cross our path, helping them to be happier and more balanced.
